Xining-Golmud section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway: The total length of the line is 759.78 kilometers. The quality improvement project will be carried out on the existing line from Xining to Xining West of Lanqing Line and from Xining West to Golmud of Qinghai-Tibet Line. Remediation: Reinforce passenger transport facilities at Huangyuan, Haiyan, Ulan, Delingha and other intermediate stations with large passenger traffic, and build a new passenger terminal building at Haiyan Station, and expand the station building and supporting facilities at Delingha Station ; Adapt the Xining EMU operation station to meet the maintenance operation of the power-concentrated EMU; reconstruct the problem bridges and culverts along the line, and drive the power-concentrated EMU with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the basis of the current line.

Golmud to Lhasa section: The total length of the line is 1136.34 kilometers. The main contents of this renovation include replacing 126 sets of 50 kg/m main line turnouts at 32 stations with 60 kg/m turnouts, and supporting the implementation of signal systems, communications, electricity, housing construction, etc. Reconstruction Project. After the renovation is completed, the quality of facilities and equipment will be further improved to ensure transportation safety.

On July 1, 2006, the entire Qinghai-Tibet Railway line, which was surveyed and designed by the First Railway Institute, was officially opened to traffic.
