On June 13, 2022, the preliminary design documents for the reconstruction and expansion project of the Weihai-Yanhai Expressway section of the Rongwu Expressway were successfully approved by the Ministry of Transport.

Weihai to Yanhai Expressway

According to reports, since the start of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Weihai-Yanhai Expressway section of the Rongwu Expressway, the Weihai Municipal Transportation Bureau has taken the initiative to set up a special work class for overall planning, actively coordinating the Shandong Expressway Construction Management Group and all municipal departments to speed up the early stages of the project. The procedures for the project have laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project.

The main line of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Weihai-Yanhai Expressway section of Rongwu Expressway is 47 kilometers long. The whole line adopts the standard of two-way six-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Yantai and Weihai are two coastal cities.
