On the morning of June 29, 2022, the second phase of Wuxi Metro Line 4 officially started. This project is the advance project of the third phase of Wuxi's urban rail transit construction planning. The start of this construction marks the beginning of a new round of rail transit construction in Wuxi.

Line 4 Phase II Project

The second phase of Line 4 starts from the Expo Center Station of the first phase of Line 4 and ends at Xishi Road Station, with a total length of about 8.3 kilometers and a total of 6 stations, all of which are underground stations.

According to reports, the second phase of the Metro Line 4 project started as planned, and the construction of Metro Line 5 and Xiyi Line S2 will be started within this year. We are about to usher in the grandest situation in the history of the simultaneous construction of four rail transits. In order to build Suzhou, Xichang, and Changzhou on the rails and speed up the integration of the Yangtze River Delta regional integration pattern, we pressed the fast-forward button.

Ruijing Road Station: Ruijing Road Station is located at the west end of Huazhuang urban renewal area, at the intersection of Zhenze Road and Ruijing Road, and is laid along Zhenze Road. The station entrance and exit are reserved for connecting passages with the long-term development plots to promote the formation of an urban life center integrating government affairs center, office, business and other functions.

Huazhuang Station: Huazhuang Station is located on the east side of the intersection of Zhenze Road and Huaqing Avenue, and is laid along Zhenze Road. The renovation of the old and new urban areas has been started on the surrounding plots. The completion of the station will comprehensively enhance the travel experience of residents and the development potential of the Huazhuang area, and help create a vibrant urban life service center.

West Jinghui Road Station: West Jinghui Road Station is located at the intersection of Zhenze Road and West Jinghui Road. It is laid along Zhenze Road and transfers to the long-term planned Line 8. The station hall is planned to adopt a large-span structure to effectively optimize the pedestrian circulation and passenger space. After completion, it can realize the close connection between Taihu New City and Xinwu District, and accelerate the integrated development of the area.

Linghu Avenue Station: Linghu Avenue Station is located at the intersection of Zhenze Road and Linghu Avenue, and is laid along Zhenze Road. Combined with the surrounding water environment, the station uses design elements such as entry and exit hydrophilic platforms, landscape trestle bridges, and low-wind pavilions to create a "wave, light and water charm" theme landscape, and build an urban slow-moving space with aesthetics, characteristics and temperament.

Wuxi New District Station: Wuxi New District Station is located in the plot on the southeast side of the intersection of Xinhua Road and Zhujiang Road. The public area of the station adopts a column-free design to create a comfortable and open underground passenger space. The entrance and exit are combined with the sunken square to effectively connect the surrounding commercial plots. The construction of the station is of great significance for building a regional transportation hub, improving the accessibility of Shuofang Airport, and enhancing the city's core competitiveness and influence.

Xishi Road Station: Xishi Road Station is located at the intersection of Xinhua Road and Airport Road. It is laid along Xinhua Road and is the terminal station of the project. There is a parking turnaround line behind the station, and three-phase extension conditions are reserved. The entrance and exit of the station take into account the function of municipal crossing, which will effectively enhance the connection between the plots on the east and west sides of the elevated airport road, and the plots on the east side of the elevated highway and the central city, promote the transformation and upgrading of surrounding industrial clusters, and accelerate the creation of an industrial highland that is livable and suitable for business.
