In July 2022, the construction of the Kela photovoltaic power station, a water-solar complementary project between the two estuaries of the Yalong River in Sichuan, is about to start.
With an installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, the project will be the hydro-solar hybrid power station with the largest installed capacity and the highest altitude in the world. Kela Photovoltaic Power Station is located in Kela Township, Yajiang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The site is 4,000 to 4,600 meters above sea level, with an average annual power generation capacity of 2 billion kWh. It will be completed in 2023.
The Kela Photovoltaic Power Station is the first phase of the hydro-solar complementation project of the Lianghekou Hydropower Station. The project takes the photovoltaic power station and the hydropower station with an installed capacity of 3 million kilowatts as the overall integrated operation control. The function of rapid compensation of power generation and photovoltaic power generation solves the problem of photovoltaic power generation "abandoned light" and safe grid connection.Editor/Ma Xue
