Recently, the construction of China-aided road project on Moheli Island in Comoros officially started in the city of Vanani, Comoros. At the groundbreaking ceremony held on the same day, President Azali of Comoros expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chinese government. China is the most trusted partner and best friend of Comoros, and has provided great support and assistance to the development of Comoros.

Moheli Island Road Project

Moheli is one of the three islands of Comoros. The Moheli Island Highway Project has a total length of 18 kilometers, connecting the cities of Wanani and Neomashwa, and is an important section of the road around the island. The project is undertaken by China Geological Engineering Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Conservation, and is expected to be officially completed in July 2024.

He Yanjun, Chinese Ambassador to Comoros, said at the ceremony that as a new symbol of Sino-Comoros friendship and close cooperation between the two countries, the implementation of this project is beneficial to the socio-economic development of Comoros, especially Moheli Island.
