Recently, the Hubei Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment organized a technical assessment meeting for the "Environmental Impact Report of the Yichang Section of the Xiangyang-Yichang Expressway" in Yuan'an. The expert group visited the site and reviewed the relevant materials. After careful discussion, they agreed that the evaluation conclusion of the Report is clear, the evaluation level is appropriate, the environmental risks are controllable, and the project construction is environmentally feasible.
Xiangyi Expressway Yichang Section
The Yichang section of Xiangyi Expressway runs north-south as a whole. It starts from Yuan'an County to Xiaoyan Town, Nanzhang County, Xiangyang City, passes through Hekou Township, Maopingchang Town, Mingfeng Town and Hualinsi Town, and connects with G59 in Dangyang City. It intersects with the North Expressway, enters Yiling District in the south, and connects with the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway. The route continues to the south with the main line toll station, ending at Xiaoya Road. The whole line adopts the design speed of 100 km/h two-way four-lane expressway standard, the roadbed width is 26 meters, of which, the two-way six-lane from Guanzhuang hub to the dead point, the roadbed width is 33.5 meters. The bridge-tunnel ratio is 52%, and the estimated investment is 16.72 billion yuan. There are 2 interchange hubs, 5 landing interchanges, 1 service area and 1 parking area on the whole line.
Up to now, all the topics of this project have been reviewed or approved except for land use pre-review, soil and water conservation, and flood assessment. The Gongke report will be submitted to the Provincial Department of Transportation to organize an industry review in the near future, and the survey and design will be promoted simultaneously, and the investor will be determined by bidding in August.
It is reported that the Yichang section of Xiangyi Expressway is a key project of regional development layout and transportation hard connectivity in Hubei Province required by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to start construction in 2022.
