Li Zhigang, the first driver of the Chengdu-Chongqing Intercity 350-kilometer EMU, has three generations of his grandparents and grandchildren who are train drivers of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway. From the steam locomotive with a speed of 30 kilometers per hour when the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway was first launched in 1952, to the Fuxing EMU with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour today, grandfather Li Hongsheng, father Li Guofang and Li Zhigang witnessed the historical changes of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway together.
In Li Zhigang's mind, this bagpipe is a call to travel through time and space. 70 years ago, it was his grandfather Li Hongsheng who sounded the whistle of the first train on the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway. His father Li Guofang also experienced the era of steam locomotives, diesel locomotives and electric locomotives as a train driver. From the "diesel smell" to the white uniform, from 13 hours to just over an hour, three generations of train drivers have witnessed the historical changes here.
"Driving every train well is not only a production task, but also a political task." This is the Yin Yin entrustment that grandfather left to Li Zhigang. So every time the train was on duty, Li Zhigang told himself that he couldn't disgrace his grandfather, and he couldn't discredit China's high-speed rail.Editor/Ma Xue
