NTPC has tendered for 1,150 MW of grid-connected solar capacity and 150 MW/150 MWh of BESS at 175 locations in the Republic of Cuba. The last date to submit bids for this Republic of Cuba is September 28, 2022, until 17:30 (IST), and bidding will open on the same day.
The 1,150 MW project will be divided into three "buckets" of about 300 MW each and will be tendered as a single project. Bidders can participate in one, any two or all three blocks if their minimum capacity is 50 MW.
The tendering agency has the discretion to award any capacity less than 50 MW. Of the three blocks mentioned above, each block totals 50 MW/50 MWh, and the 150 MW/150 MWh BESS is evenly distributed across the three predetermined locations. Bidders must consider the additional cost of installing the BESS system when submitting their bids. The province where the BESS is located should be independently assessed, and the specific modalities of the bidding process should be further explained in the RFP.
Potential bidders must design, build and operate one or more grid-connected solar PV plants in Latin and South America with a minimum cumulative capacity of 15 MW. Each such plant should have a capacity of at least 5 MW. Bidders should have experience in the successful design, construction and operation of one or more power plants using any power generation technology, connected to grids in Latin and South America, with a minimum cumulative capacity of 40 MW.
Bidders are expected to have a net worth of at least $40 million or their equivalent on the last day of the previous fiscal year, with a net worth of at least 15% of total assets.
