In the second half of 2022, State Grid will successively start construction of 8 UHV transmission channels including the upstream Jinsha River hydropower station to Hubei, Gansu Longdong to Shandong, Ningxia to Hunan, and Xinjiang Hami to Chongqing. At the same time, preparatory work for six UHV transmission projects from Shanxi Datong to Tianjin South, Shaanxi to Anhui, and Shaanxi to Henan will also be started.

Zhang Quan, deputy director of the State Grid Development Department: We must accelerate the construction of major projects, vigorously improve the ability to allocate energy resources, and increase the capacity of inter-regional and inter-provincial power transmission from the current 240 million kilowatts to more than 370 million kilowatts in 2030.

In the second half of 2022, State Grid will also start new pumped-storage power stations such as Zhuanghe in Liaoning and Niushoushan in Ningxia, and promote the construction of power grids in key counties, old revolutionary areas and border areas.
