On the morning of August 22, 2022, the commencement ceremony of key construction projects for the third anniversary of the Lingang New Area was held. A total of 72 key construction projects have started, with a total investment of about 153 billion yuan, covering cutting-edge technology, high-quality housing, municipal transportation, energy security, ecological environment, business, culture, sports, tourism, social livelihood and comprehensive bonded areas.

According to reports, the main venue and 11 sub-venues will be set up for this start-up event. The main venue is located at the site of the Jita Semiconductor's advanced automotive-grade chip expansion project. Wu Xiaohua, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lingang New Area, said that after the completion of the project, the technical level of Jita Semiconductor will be further improved, the types of process technology platforms will be further expanded, and a systematic manufacturing solution for automotive-grade chips will be provided for automotive chips. Solving the technical bottleneck of domestic automotive chip manufacturing will help ensure national industrial security and information security.

Jita focuses on the R&D and manufacturing base of semiconductor integrated circuit chip characteristic technology. It has two factories in Lingang New Area and Xuhui District, with a total capacity of 280,000 pieces/month (equivalent to 8 inches) built and under construction. Among them, 70,000 pieces/month for 6 inches, 110,000 pieces/month for 8 inches, 50,000 pieces/month for 12 inches, and 30,000 pieces/month for silicon carbide, which provide microcontrollers, analog chips for automotive electronics, industrial control and high-end consumer electronics. Special process manufacturing platforms and technical services for core chips such as circuits, power devices, and sensors.

The projects started in this activity also include: Dishui Lake Financial Bay Phase II with "Financial Innovation Valley" as the core; Yangshan International Bonded Trade Center to build the core platform for industrial innovation and development in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone; Seaport Center Complex, Jinqiao Lin A number of urban functional projects such as the residential group in the Hong Kong comprehensive area and the Shuihua Road community service center; a number of iconic industrial projects such as the next-generation AI + digital media industry base of Zhizhen Technology, and the supporting project of Yanfeng International Lingang intelligent cockpit.

Since its establishment three years ago, a total of 829 projects have been started in the Lingang New Area, with a total construction area of 25.61 million square meters, 150 kilometers of newly renovated roads, 65 kilometers of new urban greenways, and 440 hectares of new green space.
