Suriname is close to the South American continent. There are a large number of Chinese in the Caribbean region and it has rich solar and thermal resources. The infrastructure cooperation with Chinese companies is in full swing. The two photovoltaic projects signed by Suriname are mainly launched by the Suriname Ministry of Natural Resources. , Aimed at solving the electricity supply for villages along the Suriname River.

At 16:00 on March 5, 2020 local time in Suriname, China Power Construction Corporation and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Suriname signed the Supplementary Agreement on Suriname's Huaba and Piginsley Village Microgrid PV Project (Halibee and Derita Beche Micro Grid Photovoltaic Power Station Expansion Project "and" Suriname Village Microgrid Photovoltaic Phase II Project "two EPC contracts.

The two Suriname microgrid photovoltaic projects signed this time were jointly developed by the Americas Regional Marketing Center of the International Affairs Department of Jiangxi Power Construction Corporation and China Power Construction International Corporation's Americas Regional Headquarters, aiming to further optimize the power structure of the villages along the Suriname River. Twenty-two villages have a continuous and reliable 24-hour power supply to meet the electricity demand of the people. The project has also received strong support from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Suriname.

The planning and design of the two projects were independently completed by Jiangxi Power Construction Company after detailed site surveys. The plans were unanimously approved and highly appreciated after they were submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Suriname. Among them, the expansion project of the Harbin and Delhi Tabec microgrid photovoltaic power plant plans to build 700kW photovoltaic power stations in two villages, supporting 1MW / 2.1MWh energy storage and microgrid systems; the second phase project covers 20 villages, After repeated research and demonstration, three large villages were selected to build photovoltaic power stations with a total capacity of 2904kW, supporting a 2.8MW / 8.5MWh energy storage system, and covering a total of 20 villages along the Suriname River by providing microgrid radiation to provide residents. And public facilities. The subsequent construction of the project will continue to be undertaken by Jiangxi Power Construction Company.

Although Suriname has a large trade export volume, its economic foundation is weak and its development is uneven. The two microgrid solar projects undertaken by China Power Construction in this country will bring light to Suriname, benefit the local people, and completely solve the current and future power problems in villages lacking electricity.
