At 9:30 local time on August 29, 2022, the Niger Kaidage Hydropower Station project was successfully intercepted. So far, the Niger Kaidaji Hydropower Station project undertaken by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group has officially entered a new stage of construction of the main structures such as the power plant and the spillway, and the project construction has been accelerated in an all-round way.

The project adopts riverbed diversion in stages to complete all construction tasks, and is implemented in three phases. In this phase, the width of the interception dragon mouth of the cofferdam is 20 meters, the maximum interception flow velocity is 3.50m/s when the dragon is closed, and the maximum water level drop is 0.94m.

On the premise of ensuring sufficient filling materials and convenient transportation in Helong, China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group adopts one-way and one-way vertical block to occupy, first fills the riprap embankment to form the dragon's mouth and protects the head of the dragon's mouth, and then concentrates the machinery. The equipment and materials are closed in a short period of time, and the left bank occupies about 319.72m. At the same time, the first phase of the left bank is used to reserve the gap to overflow, so as to achieve the goal of closure.

During the construction of the project, it will provide thousands of jobs for Niger and cultivate a large number of technical talents for the local area.
