The small city of Siwa is located on the northwestern border of Egypt, less than 50 kilometers away from neighboring Libya, and nearly 600 kilometers away from Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Li Wei, general manager of Zhongman Petroleum, said that most of the existing wells in the local area are shallow wells with a depth of 300 to 400 meters. In February, the relevant Egyptian departments took the initiative to find Zhongman Petroleum, hoping that they could help drill two deep water wells with a depth of about 1,200 meters, so that the local area has a clean, stable and sufficient source of drinking water.

In order to ensure the quality of the project, Zhongman Oil moved a 550-horsepower drilling rig from more than 800 kilometers away. In addition, considering the geological problems existing in the project location, the company's technical department took precautions and organized technical experts in advance to study and formulate corresponding leak prevention and plugging measures.

Allowing local residents to drink clean drinking water as soon as possible has become the driving force for the Chinese drilling team to work overtime. The drilling team operates in two shifts, and the machine rotates 24 hours a day. At present, the first well has been drilled and the water test has been successful.
