On August 31, 2022, the Guangxi Public Resources Trading Center released the announcement of the successful bidders for the two-phase survey and design of the Pinglu Canal Project. The overall route of the project is divided into 5 sections, namely the Shaping River section, the watershed section, and the Qinjiang section. The main stream section, the urban section of Qinjiang and the waterway of the offshore section of the estuary.
The Pinglu Canal begins at the mouth of the Pingtang River, Hengzhou City, Nanning, Xijin Reservoir District, the main stream of the Xijiang River, crosses the watershed between the Shaping River and the Jiuzhou River, a tributary of the Qinjiang River, and passes through Luwu Town, Lingshan County, Qinzhou City, and goes south along the main stream of the Qinjiang River into the Qinzhou Port waters of the Beibu Gulf. The total length is about 135 kilometers. It is constructed according to the standard of inland river I-class waterway. It can navigate 5,000-ton ships. There are three shipping hubs: Madao, Qishi and Qingnian.
the second phase of the Ma Dao Junction and its upstream waterway project
Project overview: Madao Junction is located at the Niuying Village dam site on the south side of the watershed and about 7km upstream of Jiuzhou Town. The elevation of the crest of the Madao Junction is 73.5m, and the total length of the axis is 422.7m. The layout plan of the left bank sluice lock and the right bank double-line ship lock is adopted. Connect the dam. The management area is arranged on the terrace downstream of the sluice gate on the left bank, and the external traffic is communicated through the new permanent road on the left bank. The upstream channel runs from K13+500 of Sanyang Bridge to the end of Ma Dao Junction. This bidding section involves a waterway mileage of 17.36km.
Qishi Junction and its upstream and downstream waterway projects
Project Overview: The Qishi Project is located at the dam site of Qishi Village, about 5.5km upstream of Luwu Town, Qinjiang River Road, and the project grade is first-class. The dam crest elevation of the hub is 39.5m, and the total length of the dam axis is 930.9m. The layout scheme of the left bank sluice lock and the right bank double-line ship lock is adopted. The management area is arranged on the west side of the double-lane ship lock, and the external traffic is communicated through the new permanent road and the connecting dam on the right bank. The upstream river runs from K30+860 to the starting point of Qishi Junction, and the downstream river runs from K50+500 to the end of Qishi Junction. This tender section involves 19.64km of waterway mileage.
K50+500-K79+600 Channel Project
Project Overview: The waterway project between the Qishi Hub and the Youth Hub within the range of stakes K50+500-K79+600. This tender section involves 29.1km of waterway mileage.
the second phase of the Youth Hub and part of the upstream channel
Project Overview: The Youth Hub is located at the dam site on the south side of Shuishindong Village, about 1.8km upstream of the existing Youth Sluice, and the project grade is first-class. The hub adopts a decentralized arrangement, with a double-line ship lock in the low mountain and hilly area on the left, and a sluice lock in the main river channel on the right. The upstream waterway is from stake K79+600 to the Youth Hub; this bidding section involves a waterway mileage of 19.4km.
