POWERCHINA signs contract for iron ore mining project in Kazakhstan

After winning the bid for the Bikita mine in Zimbabwe in July, on August 29, the 16th Bureau of China Power Construction and Hydropower took another step in the international mining engineering market and officially signed a contract with Kazakhstan LTD FATH Company. The first phase of iron ore mining project in Kemora State, the contract value is 653 million US dollars.

The construction period of the project is 11 years, and the main content is the stripping project of 30 million tons of iron ore, including planning, design, power supply of the mine, construction of ancillary facilities such as office buildings and dormitories, as well as mining, stripping and transportation.

The iron ore project will consist of an iron ore processing plant. It will produce iron ore concentrates, dewatering/filtration and pelletizing plants to produce filter cakes and pellets, and slurry pipelines for iron ore concentrate slurries. Keywords: engineering news, overseas news

The projects are said to be in line with the Kazakh government's 2030 vision: to develop downstream installations in the metals industry. They are expected to create 9,300 direct local jobs and open up opportunities for tens of thousands of indirect jobs.Editor/XingWentao
