According to reports, on January 8, 2022, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 occurred in Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Qinghai Province, causing traffic interruptions in the Lanxin high-speed rail section. On March 24, after detailed investigation and scientific evaluation and demonstration, the railway department began to implement the in-situ restoration and renovation project of the Daliang Tunnel and the Qilian Mountain Tunnel, and the reconstruction project of the Lishuanggou Bridge.
The restoration construction site is located on a plateau with an altitude of 3,600 to 3,800 meters. The outdoor temperature is low, the average wind force is above level 4, the air oxygen content is only 55% of that in the plain area, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and the effective construction time is short. The original planned construction period of the project was 8 months. The participating construction units overcame the unfavorable conditions and worked 24 hours a day to complete the project ahead of schedule.
