Construction has started on a 10-square-kilometer industrial park in Binh Thuan province in southern Vietnam. Prime Minister Pham Minh Cheng attended the groundbreaking ceremony in Ham Tan district. When completed in 2025, the $520 million campus will serve everything from building materials to food processing. It will have two 450 MW gas-fired power plants and a 100-hectare LNG import port.
The park was developed by a special purpose vehicle called the Sanmei Industrial Park Investment Construction and Trade Infrastructure Company. Speaking at the ceremony, the prime minister said the park will be one of the largest industrial parks in Vietnam and will help make Vietnam a middle-to-high-income country and a developed country with a higher per capita income by 2030.
Vietnam hopes to achieve these goals by investing in the digital transformation of existing industries, digital economy, green energy, circular economy principles and adaptation to climate change.Editor/XingWentao
