At 6:55 on September 6, 2022, the G6518 high-speed rail departed from Changsha Station Intercity Field (Jintai Plaza), and then arrived at Yiyang South Station. The Yiyang-Changsha section of the Chongqing-Xiamen high-speed railway was officially opened to traffic, Yiyang City joined the high-speed railway city circle of friends, and Hunan realized the city-city high-speed railway.

The Yichang Section of the Yuxia High-speed Railway has a total length of 63 kilometers. It is connected to the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Tanzhou Intercity Railway via Changsha West Station. It is designed according to the upper limit standard speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After the opening to traffic, the travel time from Yiyang to Changsha will be shortened from the original 70 minutes to the fastest 31 minutes.Editor/Ma Xue
