At 6:55 on September 6, 2022, the G6518 high-speed rail departed from Changsha Station Intercity Field (Jintai Plaza), and then arrived at Yiyang South Station. The Yiyang-Changsha section of the Chongqing-Xiamen high-speed railway was officially opened to traffic, Yiyang City joined the high-speed railway city circle of friends, and Hunan realized the city-city high-speed railway.

The Yichang Section of the Yuxia High-speed Railway has a total length of 63 kilometers. It is connected to the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Tanzhou Intercity Railway via Changsha West Station. It is designed according to the upper limit standard speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
