Indian Solar has started accepting bids to supply 2.25 GW of all-weather power for renewable energy projects, supplemented by electricity from other sources or storage. Potential developers will develop these projects and connect them to the interstate transmission network, building on their own operations.

SECI will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with the successful developer. Electricity procured by SECI is ready for sale to MPSEZ Utilities Ltd.

Renewable energy projects that have already been commissioned cannot be considered under this RfS. However, renewable energy projects under construction or projects not yet commissioned will be considered if these projects have not been accepted by any other central or state programs. Enhancing or adding additional capacity to an already commissioned project, regardless of its capacity, will not be considered a qualifying project, the tender documents said.

These projects can be located anywhere in India. For a single project, installed renewable power generation components and energy storage systems can be co-located or located in different locations. Different components of RTC power can be connected to the ISTS network of different ISTS substations. A single developer must bid for at least 250 MW. The maximum capacity allocated to developers will be as high as 2.25 GW.Editor/XingWentao
