At the Zanatas wind farm in southern Kazakhstan, electrical engineer Mark Sutter is in charge of overhauling electrical equipment. He said that his hometown is windy all year round and is a good place to develop wind power.

In the eyes of Marksart and his colleagues, those "bad weather" with strong winds are "good weather" that helps wind turbines convert more energy. They work overtime when the wind blows to ensure a stable power supply, and they are tired and happy.

The Zanatas Wind Farm is a joint venture between China and Kazakhstan. It is the largest wind power project built in Central Asia. The project has an installed capacity of 100,000 kilowatts and can generate about 350 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The commissioning of the wind farm has not only effectively alleviated the shortage of electricity in southern Kazakhstan and the imbalance of electricity supply and demand between the north and the south, but also brought new vigor and vitality to the former mining city of Zanatas.Editor/Ma Xue
