Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region approved the Hami-Chongqing UHV DC project supporting coal power project. It is reported that this is the first coal-fired power unit in the autonomous region designed and constructed in accordance with the design and construction of a million-kilowatt ultra-supercritical unit.

The project is located in Balikun County, Hami City, with a total investment of over 14.5 billion yuan and a construction scale of 4 × 1 million kilowatts. The designed coal consumption for power supply has reached the national benchmark level of energy consumption for coal-fired generating units, compared with the average coal consumption for power supply in China at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period. , 460,000 tons of standard coal can be saved every year.

In the next step, the Development and Reform Commission of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will work with relevant departments to optimize the approval process, speed up the preliminary procedures, implement the maximum letter review, the fastest parallel approval, and the optimal limit tolerance acceptance, and fully promote the project to start construction before the end of September. . After the project is completed, it can deliver more than 22 billion kWh of electricity to Chongqing every year, which will play an important role in ensuring national energy security, supporting the economic and social development of the Sichuan-Chongqing Shuangcheng Circle, and promoting the transformation of energy resources in our district.

The so-called Xinjiang power into Chongqing means to directly set up power plants in Xinjiang, use Xinjiang coal to generate electricity, and then directly export the electricity to Chongqing through UHV lines. The project approved this time is a supporting power supply for the Hami-Chongqing UHV DC project. The first phase is to build a 2×1 million kilowatt coal-fired unit in Hami City, with a total investment of about 7.2 billion yuan. It is understood that Xinjiang Power into Chongqing will not only develop thermal power, but also vigorously develop wind photovoltaic and energy storage projects.

The approval of the project marks the beginning of the substantive implementation of Xinjiang power into Chongqing.
