On the morning of September 15, 2022, the commencement ceremony of the preparatory project for the Zhejiang Jiande Pumped Storage Power Station was held in Meicheng Town.

The power station covers an area of about 161.44 hectares, with a total investment of 14.05 billion yuan, and was built by GCL Energy Technology Co., Ltd. It is planned to build six 400,000-kilowatt pumped-storage units with a total installed capacity of 2,400 megawatts, equivalent to three Xin'anjiang hydropower stations.

After the power station is put into operation, it will deliver a steady stream of green energy to the Zhejiang Power Grid. It is estimated that the annual coal consumption will be saved by about 480,000 tons, and the carbon emission will be reduced by 960,000 tons.Editor/Ma Xue
