On the morning of September 19, 2022, Wuhua County, Meizhou, Guangdong held the construction of the second phase of the Meizhou Pumped Storage Power Station, the preliminary work of the Meizhou Sandu Pumped Storage Power Station project and the signing ceremony of the Meizhou Wuhua Longdong Pumped Storage Power Station project.

Meizhou Pumped Storage Power Station Project: Located in Huangshi Village, Longcun Town, Wuhua County, it is the largest single infrastructure project invested in Meizhou City, and the number one project in the city and county. The planned total installed capacity of the project is 2.4 million kilowatts, with a total investment of about 12 billion yuan. It will be constructed in two phases. Among them, the first phase of investment is 7.051 billion yuan to build 4 units with a total of 1.2 million kilowatts, and all of them will be put into operation by the end of May 2022.

The second phase of the plum storage project, which has started construction this time, has an investment of about 5 billion yuan. On the basis of the first phase, 4 new units will be built, with a total of 1.2 million kilowatts. The second phase of the project has been included in the "Pumped Storage Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2021-2035)" by the General Department of the National Energy Administration. The entire project is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2025, when two phases of 8 units with a total of 2.4 million kilowatts will be put into operation, with an annual tax revenue of about 200 million yuan.

Meizhou Sandu Water Pumped Storage Power Station Project: The site is located at the junction of Wuhua and Xingning, with a total investment of about 10 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1.8 million kilowatts. The project is expected to complete the pre-feasibility-related work this year, the preliminary project will start in 2023, the feasibility study and approval will be completed in 2024, and the project will be completed and put into operation in 2030. During the construction period, it is estimated that the construction and installation tax, farm occupation tax and other taxes will exceed 300 million yuan, and the annual tax will be about 150 million yuan after completion and operation.

Wuhua Longdong Pumped Storage Power Station Project: The site is located at the junction of Changbu Town and Zhoujiang Town in Wuhua County, with a planned total investment of about 8 billion yuan, a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, and a regulated storage capacity of about 10.08 million cubic meters in the upper reservoir area; The lower storage area has an adjusted storage capacity of about 19.71 million cubic meters.
