A few days ago, a consortium formed by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Spain’s FCC Company and Saudi Arabia’s SAJCO Company signed a general contract for the construction of Saudi Arabia’s traffic tunnel project with Future New City Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign fund PIF. The contract value is about 2.47 billion US dollars.

The project includes two parallel high-speed passenger railway tunnels and heavy freight railway tunnels, with a single line length of 15.75 kilometers. The main work includes the excavation of the pilot tunnel and the main tunnel, initial support, waterproofing, secondary lining and partition wall. construction, etc.
