In the context of the "carbon neutrality" strategy, the energy storage industry continues to grow in popularity, and the battery giants are actively following up and deploying the energy storage field to seize the opportunity.
On September 21, local time, CATL announced that it has reached a cooperation agreement with FlexGen, an American energy storage technology platform and solution provider, to supply the latter with 10GWh of advanced energy storage products within three years.
According to the agreement, CATL will supply the containerized liquid-cooled energy storage product EnerC to FlexGen. This product has both IP55 protection level and C5 anti-corrosion level, which can adapt to a variety of extreme weather, while meeting the safe and reliable operation of the whole system for 20 years. With the industry-leading highly integrated liquid cooling system design, the energy density of EnerC can reach 259.7kWh/㎡, which is nearly twice as high as that of traditional air cooling systems.
Powered by FlexGen's HybridOS energy management system platform, CATL's energy storage system will provide advanced and reliable energy for utilities, competitive power markets and municipal projects. The HybridOS platform currently powers high-performance energy storage systems in Texas, California, and throughout North America.
Previously, FlexGen has just been designated as an authorized service provider of CATL to provide maintenance and optimization services for CATL's battery energy storage system. At present, the cooperation between CATL and FlexGen in energy storage system projects has exceeded 2.5GWh.
CATL said that the deepened cooperation with FlexGen and the latest supply agreement will help the company supply important equipment for energy storage projects in North America and accelerate its development in the North American market. CATL’s products are widely used in large-scale and important energy storage projects around the world, including three projects with a total capacity of more than 2.1GWh in Southern California Edison Company, and commercial energy storage projects in operation and under construction in Texas with a total capacity of more than 500MWh.
In the first half of 2022, CATL achieved revenue of 112.971 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 156.32%; net profit attributable to the parent was 8.168 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 82.17%. Among them, the revenue of energy storage system was 12.74 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 171.41%, accounting for 11.27%. Keywords: engineering news, overseas news
