Recently, Guangxi New Development Transportation Group Co., Ltd. published the environmental impact report (draft for comments) on the Tieshan Port to Pingxiang Highway (Dongxing to Pingxiang section) on the official website.

Judging from the content of the environmental impact report, the starting point of the route from Tieshan Port to Pingxiang (Dongxing to Pingxiang section) is located on the north side of Dongxing City, connecting with Qindong Expressway, passing through Malu Town, Naliang Town, Dongxing Town, Fangchenggang City Zhongzhen, connect to Shangdong Expressway on the north side of Tongzhong Town, and pass through Shiwanda Mountain on the same line for 11km, then enter Ningming County, pass through Tongmian Town and Zhilang Township, and end at Shangshi Town and Bazaar Township in Pingxiang City. Connect with the high-speed end point. The total length is 154.566km, and the total length of the line is 11km. The entire line is constructed in accordance with the technical standards of two-way four-lane expressways, with a design speed of 100/120km/h and a total investment of about 23.4 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction in December 2022, complete and open to traffic in December 2025, with a construction period of 3 years.

From the perspective of route planning, the Pingxiang-Dongxing Expressway connects several ports in series, including the four major ports of Dongxing, Aidian, Dongzhong and Pingxiang, which can be said to be a major import and export trade channel. As the two major port cities in Guangxi, Pingxiang and Dongxing, although both cities have access to expressways and railways, there has never been a convenient passage between the two port cities. The only road is the G219 along the border road. Friends who have passed the G219 road along the border will find that the scenery along this secondary road is indeed very beautiful, but it is not easy to walk, it is all mountain roads. It takes more time than other ordinary secondary roads to walk together on rugged roads such as Ma'an'ao. After the construction of the Pingxiang-Dongxing Expressway, the one-way trip between the two places takes less than 2 hours, which is significantly shorter than taking the G219.

Most of the areas that the Pingxiang-Dongxing Expressway passes through are mountainous areas, so this expressway is not easy to repair, especially the Fangchenggang section. Yuan.
