On September 26, 2022, Taiyuan Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau released the Second Information Publicity of Environmental Impact Assessment of Taiyuan Urban Rail Transit Phase II Construction Planning (2023-2028).
According to the public notice, the second phase construction plan of Taiyuan urban rail transit (2023-2028) includes the second phase of Line 1 and the first phase of Line 3, a total of 2 projects, with a total scale of about 33.35 kilometers and a total investment of about 27.09 billion yuan.
The second phase of Line 1 will start from T2 terminal of Wusu Airport in Phase I and extend southeast to T3 terminal. The length of line is 1.85 kilometers, with 1 station and 1 section in total. Type A vehicles will be selected, with an investment of about 1.196 billion yuan.
Compared with the previous announcement, the investment decreased from about $1,234 million to about $1,196 million. The first phase of Line 3 is the urban backbone line, connecting the key areas such as Hexi districts and Taiyuan South Railway Station transportation hub. The line starts from Chai Village in the north, passes through Jinqiao West Street, Heping North Road and Heping South Road to the east and ends at Dongfeng. The total length of the line is 31.5 kilometers, with 25 stations, 1 depot and 1 parking lot. The vehicles are to be selected as type A vehicles, with an investment of about 25.894 billion yuan.
