Shanghai LNG (liquefied natural gas) station line expansion project has been jointly approved by Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission and Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, which is another step closer to the start of construction.
The expansion project is located in Shenjiawan Operation area of Yangshan deep-water Port of Shanghai International Shipping Center, adjacent to the existing Shanghai LNG Yangshan receiving Station. The new construction scale is 6 million tons/year, with a total investment of about 17 billion yuan, including three parts: terminal project, receiving station project and gas pipeline project. Among them, a new 150,000-ton LNG berth will be built, which can accommodate 0.5-266,000 m3 LNG ships. In the receiving station project, 10 LNG storage tanks with over 220,000 cubic meters and ancillary facilities will be built; The pipeline project is about 70 kilometers long, including the Xiaoyangshan overland pipeline, the new undersea pipeline from Xiaoyangshan to Shanghai Fengxin, and a Fengxin gas transmission station.
It is understood that after the completion of the project, the expansion of the project will be linked to yangshan terminal security undertaking the Shanghai natural gas supply, load and the main task of emergency stockpile, to perfect the system of the Shanghai natural gas ChanGong pin storage construction, to improve the security of urban gas supply, optimize the structure of energy consumption and improving the capacity of gas in Yangtze river delta's overall security is of great significance.
Adjacent to Yangshan receiving station, Shanghai LNG station line expansion project will build 10 new LNG storage tanks of more than 220,000 cubic meters as the main body of the expansion project, Shenneng Yangshan Liquefied Natural Gas Co., LTD., which is jointly established by Shenneng Group, Zheneng Natural Gas Group and CNOOC Gas and Power Group according to the share ratio of 60% : 20% : 20%. In the next step, the joint venture company will aim at the national supervision target of "starting construction in November" and make every effort to implement various pre-construction matters. Yangshan LNG terminal is the main gas source for Shanghai's natural gas supply. The first phase of the project was completed and put into operation in 2009, and two 200,000-square-meter storage tanks were put into operation in November 2020. More than 50% of Shanghai's natural gas supply is shipped to Yangshan Island in the form of LNG, which is stored in huge storage tanks, and then passes through pipelines of various pressure levels to continuously provide clean natural gas energy for residents and enterprises.
The increase of gas storage capacity and gasified external transport capacity of receiving stations will greatly improve the energy security supply and emergency peak regulating capacity under extreme weather conditions. According to Thepaper.cn, when completed, the Shanghai LNG station extension project will provide Shanghai with more than 1.32 billion square meters of gas storage capacity and 2.1 million square meters of gas supply capacity per hour. It will connect with the existing Yangshan LNG terminal and ensure energy supply through coordination and deployment. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
