A major road project in the UK has been approved and is expected to cost £ 1.2 billion. The project is managed by the national highway and involves the widening of 24km of A12 section in Essex.
The section between Chelmsford and Colchester in Essex will be reconstructed into a two-way three lane road instead of the current two-way two lane road. The purpose of this work is to improve the traffic capacity of this line, which carries a large amount of traffic during rush hours, including a large number of large trucks. Congestion can sometimes become a problem. A new bypass road is also planned, but the project has not yet been approved.Editor/Xing Wentao
