On Oct 7, 2022, the Feasibility Study report of the new Changsha to Ganzhou Railway was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission.
The new Changsha-Ganzhou railway, located in eastern Hunan province and southwestern Jiangxi province, is an important part of Xia-Chongqing Passage, one of the eight vertical and eight horizontal lines of the national high-speed railway network, according to the introduction. The project starts from Changsha, Hunan Province in the west, leads from Changsha West Station of Changyichang Railway, goes east through Changsha Huanghua Airport and Liuyang, turns south through Shangli, Pingxiang, Lianhua, Yongxin, Jinggangshan, and Suichuan of Jiangxi Province to Ganzhou, and crosses the Ganjiang River to Ganxian station Longyan end section and Ganruilong Railway link through; Through the southwest link line, Yungui-sha link line into Changsha South Railway Station, Yuchang-guang and Yungui-sha road communication; The link line is introduced into Ganzhou West Railway Station to communicate with Changjiang-Shenshen Road.
The main line of Changzhou-Jiangxi Railway is 429.400km in length, of which the main line of Hunan section is 131.848km and the main line of Jiangxi section is 297.552km. The estimated total investment is about 75.4 billion yuan, including 27.4 billion yuan for the Hunan section and 48 billion yuan for the Jiangxi section. The planned construction period is 4.5 years. The whole line is planned to set up 12 stations, including Changsha West (under construction), Huanghua Airport, Liuyang, Shangli, Pingxiang North (existing), Luxi, Lianhua, Yongxin, Jinggangshan East, Suichuan, Ganzhou North, Ganzhou West (existing).
In addition, it includes supporting works for Changzhutan hub, supporting works for Pingxiang area and supporting works for Ganzhou hub. The new bridge length of the main line is 167.208km, the new tunnel length is 202.521km, the roadbed length is 59.751km (including the underground station 1.115km), the bridge and tunnel ratio is 86.1%, the bridge length of the bypass line and the connecting line is 47.167km, and the tunnel length is 5.874km.
There are 14 connecting lines at 8 points and one bullet train running line at 1 point, totaling 16.412km of double lines and 43.718km of single lines. The permanent land of the whole line (including the contact line and the land acquired by generation) is 17,629.3 mu, and the temporary land is 11050.4 mu.
