On Oct 12, 2022, the Changfu to Jinshi (Ganxiang boundary) section of Shanghai-Kunming Expressway and the second phase of Changchang-Zhangshu Expressway reconstruction and expansion project started.

The two projects

It is understood that Shanghai-Kunming Expressway Changfu to Zhuangshi (Jiangxi Hunan boundary) section is the Jiangxi expressway network "10 longitudinal, 10 horizontal 21" in the planning of the fifth important component, the project is located in Changfu town, Zhangshu City, through Yichun, Xinyu, Pingxiang 3 districts of 11 counties, 36 towns, the end is located in Xianggan Province boundary Zhuangshi. In addition to the newly built double track sections, the project adopts the two-way six-lane standard, and the rest of the sections that use the existing expressways will adopt the two-way eight-lane standard, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. There are 187 Bridges, 2 tunnels, 875 culverts and 22 interchanges.

The second phase of Changchang-Zhangshu Expressway reconstruction and expansion project is located in the west of Ganjiang River in Nanchang City, which is an important part of "five horizontal and three vertical" in the "ten vertical and ten horizontal" trunk road network planning of Nanchang City. The route starts from the south of Lizhuangshan high-speed Railway Bridge in the north, ends at Changxi south junction, and connects with Changzhang Expressway (the first phase of reconstruction and expansion). Add Longxing Street interconnection 1, Fuzhou Street, Pingxiang Street junction 2. The project adopts two-way six-lane expressway standard construction, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

According to a person in charge of Jiangxi Provincial Transportation Department, the two new projects are the last two sections of the expansion of the main skeleton of the highway in Jiangxi Province. After the completion of the project, the main skeleton of Jiangxi's big cross eight-lane expressway will be fully formed, which will further improve the travel quality of the people along the road, improve the regional investment and business environment, and boost the in-depth implementation of the strategy of strengthening the provincial capital and accelerate the construction of the Hunan-Jiangxi border regional cooperation demonstration zone.
