On Oct 13, 2022, Zhejiang Public Resources Trading Service platform released the candidate announcement of the winning bid for the new Ningbo to Zhoushan Railway PPP project. The project is led by China Railway Shanghai Investment Group Co., LTD., and a consortium consisting of China Railway Construction East Investment and Construction Co., LTD., with a total investment of about 27 billion yuan.

Project overview

The total length of the new Ningbo to Zhoushan railway is 76.396 kilometers, among which the new line is 70.137 kilometers long, and the existing line is 6.259 kilometers long, including Ningbo hub, Zhoushan area related projects and the bridge highway jointly built by highway and railway. The line is located in the eastern coastal area of Zhejiang Province, starting from Ningbo East Railway Station in the west, passing through Yinzhou District and Beilun District of Ningbo City, to Jintang Island, Cizi Island and Zhoushan Island.

There are 36 large and medium Bridges of 31.391km in the whole line, among which 27 Bridges of the left line are 28.643km. Xihoumen cross-sea super Houmen Bridge, Taoyaomen Bridge, and Fuzhimen super Houmen Bridge are both highway and railway Bridges. Jintang Waterway is a railway tunnel, with 17 tunnels of 34.660km, and the bridge-to-tunnel ratio is 90.26%. The WHOLE LINE HAS 7 STATIONS, INCLUDING 4 NEW STATIONS, 3 EXISTING STATIONS, QIUAI STATION IS THE CONNECTING STATION, AND THE REST ARE THE INTERMEDIATE STATIONS FOR passenger service. Zhoushan bullet train depot is set up at Zhoushan Station.

The whole line of new station houses a total of 5, 1 rebuilt station. The newly built Yunlong station is 5,000 square meters, Beilun West Station is 5,000 square meters, Jintang Station is 3,500 square meters, Ma 'ao station is 5,000 square meters, and Zhoushan station is 20,000 square meters.
