On Oct 13, 2022, the announcement of the successful candidates for the total construction price contract of the Nanjing hub and the Nantong pre-station project of the new Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed Railway was released. The project will begin full construction in October.

Project overview

The newly built Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei high-speed Railway starts from the newly built Shanghai Baoshan Station at Shanghai hub and ends at Hefei South Railway Station at Hefei hub. The operation length of the project is 553.76km, including 519.05km of new line, 471.518km of bridge and 25.099km of tunnel, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 95.68%.

There are 16 stations on the whole line, of which 10 are newly built, which are Baoshan, Chongming, Qidong, Haimen, Rugao, Huangqiao, Taizhou, Yizheng, Nanjing and Dashu stations. Five stations were rebuilt, namely Taicang, Nantong, East Yangzhou, Chuzhou and Feidong stations; The use of the existing station 1, for Hefei South Station.

This bidding agent construction project is the reconstruction project of Nanjing Hub and Nantong area, and the construction site is located in Nanjing and Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.

Planned construction period: 5 years, planned start date: October 2022, planned completion date: October 2027.

Nanjing hub

Shanghai-chongdu-rong main line DK379+339.28 to DK427+948.09, the length of the line 46.30 kilometers. Nanjing North Railway Station Huyurong Depot, Nanjing North Huyurong high-speed train running line, Nanjing North high-speed train Operation Center and comprehensive maintenance area.

It includes the reconstruction of Beijing-Shanghai passenger car line, the reconstruction of Beijing-Shanghai freight car line, the reconstruction of Ningqi line, the construction of Ningqipu North link line, the reconstruction of Linpu line, the reconstruction of ethylene special line, and the construction of the whole passenger station access section line.

The main stations are the new Pusu station of Nanjing North Railway Station, the forest station station, the reconstruction of Gaoli Station, Yongningzhen Station, Yinzhuang Station and Puzhen Station, the new Nanjing North railway service return section and the whole passenger station project.

Nantong region

Shanghai-chongdu-rong main line DK154+636.710 to DK172+717.27, the length of the line 18.08 kilometers. It includes reconstruction of Chenqiao Railway Line, reconstruction of Nantong Station, reconstruction of Qidong Railway Station, construction of Qidong passenger terminal and maintenance return section, running line of Nantong bullet train and expansion of Nantong bullet train operating station.
