On October 17, 2022, Anhui Provincial Department of Transport released the public announcement of the civil engineering bid evaluation results of the reconstruction and expansion section of the Hu-Chongqing National Highway from Guangde to Xuancheng in Anhui Province. The project is divided into seven bid sections with a total estimated investment of 9.748 billion yuan.

Project overview

The reconstruction and expansion project of Guangde to Xuancheng section of Hu-Chongqing National Expressway in Anhui Province starts from the vicinity of Jiepai Village, Taozhou Town, Guangde City, passes through the north of Guangde District, Xiejie Town, Cross Town and Honglin Town, ends in Xuanzhou District, Xuancheng City, and connects with the proposed reconstruction and expansion section of Hu-Chongqing Expressway from Xuancheng to Wuhu. Simultaneous quality improvement to improve the existing Guangdeland South line segment. The total length of the project is 91.554km, and the total length of the quality improvement section of Guangde South Line is 22.009km.

The 25.909km section from Jiepai Junction to Huagu Junction is newly built with the standard of two-way six-lane expressway, and the roadbed width is 34.5 meters. The other 65.645km sections are rebuilt and expanded with the standard of two-way eight-lane expressway, and the roadbed width is 42 meters. The distance from the starting point to Xuancheng East Interconnecting section is 74.930km with a design speed of 120km/h. The distance from Xuancheng East interconnecting section to the finishing section is 16.624km with a design speed of 100km/h. The 22.009km Guangde South Line maintains the standard of the original four-lane expressway, the design speed is 100km/h, the roadbed width is 24.5 meters, the existing road surface, bridge and culvert are repaired and strengthened, the management and service facilities are improved, and the traffic safety facilities are reconstructed according to the current standards.

There are 11 Bridges, 9 middle Bridges and 86 culvert passages in the new section of Guangde North Line. In the reconstruction and expansion section of the old road, there are 1 extra-large bridge, 5 Bridges, 25 middle Bridges, 19 small Bridges and 328 culvert passages. There are 1 bridge, 5 middle Bridges, 14 small Bridges and 93 culvert channels in the improvement section of Guangde Southern Line. The current situation of Guangde East connectivity, Guangde connectivity, Guangde west connectivity, Xiejie hub, Xuanguang hub, Xuancheng east connectivity, and Xuancheng west connectivity is a total of 7 communication using in-situ reconstruction and expansion; Cross communication adopts shift new; New Jiepai hub, Gaohu interchange, Huagu junction, Honglin interchange, a total of 4 interchange; Full use of Xuancheng hub interconnection. Set up 8 ramp toll stations, 1 monitoring center, 1 maintenance area, 2 traffic police barracks. One new Honglin service area was added, the Lvjin service area was rebuilt in situ, and the Guangde South service area was retained as it is.
