On Oct 17, 2022, the expansion project of two 1000MW coal-fired generating units of Qingyuan Power Plant Phase II of the National Energy Group Guangdong Company was officially approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province.

The second phase of Qingyuan Power Plant has an investment of about 7.2 billion yuan, and the total investment of the first and second phases is about 15 billion yuan. After completion, Qingyuan power Plant will become the main channel of "power transmission from west to east" and an important power supply point in the northern power grid of Guangdong Province.

Qingyuan continues to promote new energy industry projects

Guoneng Qingyuan Power Plant is located in Shakou Town, Yingde City. The project is a key preparatory project for the construction of Guangdong Province in 2022. With the goal of building high-quality power stations and creating modern industrial artworks in Beijiang, the dynamic investment of 8.918 billion yuan is planned to realize the production of two units by the end of 2023, which will contribute to energy supply in Guangdong province.

By the end of June 2022, Guoneng Qingyuan Power Plant had realized the top of the main structure of the boiler and the main building, the top of the chimney cylinder wall, and the welding and hoisting of the heating surface of the boiler. The project inside and outside the plant had made phased progress, with a total investment of 2.898 billion yuan and a contract amount of 6.809 billion yuan.

In recent years, Qingyuan has continued to promote the construction of new energy industry projects, adhere to the bottom line of energy security, gradually and orderly increase the proportion of non-fossil energy, and give priority to the development of photovoltaic, wind, biomass power and other clean energy. Rational distribution of pumped storage power stations, strengthen the diversified use of solar energy, promote the construction of wind power projects according to local conditions, and actively explore the biomass power generation industry.

Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", Qingyuan has completed and put into operation Huadian Shunde Qingyuan Anglo-German Economic Cooperation Zone cogeneration, Anglo-German Association Xinguang Volt power Station, Lianzhou Xingzi 200 MW agricultural photovoltaic, Lianzhou Quanshan Wind Farm, Fangang Mountain Wind Farm, Yangshan Nandian biomass power generation and other projects.
