Recently, Unit 2 of Turkey's Hunutlu 2× 660,000 kW coal-fired power plant project designed by China NCC East China Institute and contracted by China Construction Group successfully passed 168 hours of trial operation. So far, both units of the project have been put into production, which can supply about 9 billion KWH of electricity to Turkey every year.
During the full load trial operation of Unit 2, the performance was stable, the equipment was in good running condition, and the high standard was put into operation.
Turkey Hunutlu 2× 660,000 kW coal-fired power plant project is located in the city of Umurtalek, Adana Province, Turkey, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. The project will construct two 660,000 kW ultra-supercritical units with a total installed capacity of 1,320 MW. Simultaneous construction of flue gas desulfurization and SCR denitration units, emissions will be better than the EU standards and gas turbine standards. The project is a key project linking China's Belt and Road Initiative and Turkey's "Middle Corridor" plan. It is also the largest direct investment project by Chinese enterprises in Turkey since the two countries established diplomatic ties, with a total investment of about 1.7 billion U.S. dollars.
Project host and main auxiliary choose domestic equipment, equipment availability rate more than 90% in China, implement China's planning, design, construction, standard, equipment, technology, management and service of eight "going out", drive capacity output in China, is a Chinese investment, China construction, management and operation of modern power plant in China.
During the construction period, the Chinese builders actively practiced their social responsibilities, showing a good overseas image of the central enterprises. The project is located in the Bay of Iskenderun in the northeastern corner of the Mediterranean Sea, which is a spawning and breeding area for endangered green turtles and vulnerable loggerhead turtles. Here, Chinese builders and local turtles become "good neighbors."
In order to create a good living environment for turtles, the project department formulated protection measures from living conditions, water management, noise control and other aspects, such as the construction of coal conveyance trestle across the turtle protection area, to protect the turtle spawning area from artificial damage; Construction and strong lighting are prohibited at night, and warning signs and information signs are set up along the road. Every quarter, volunteers are organized to clean up the garbage on the beach to clear the obstacles for turtles to breed and return to the sea.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the builders, turtle conservation experts found a total of 51 turtle nests along 1.5 kilometers of coastline in 2021, an increase of 9 compared with 2019. Based on the calculation of 20 to 30 turtle eggs per nest, there were at least 200 more baby turtles in 2021.
In addition, the project department is located in a long dry period, which has a greater impact on crop yields. The power plant has an eco-protection system that removes pollutants from wastewater and turns it into a recyclable water source for irrigation. "I have an olive garden and it usually takes seven years to harvest my first olives, but with this water I can harvest in four." Villagers around the project said.
In addition, the project department learned that Suguji Village primary school in Adana Province of Turkey was old and had security risks, so it organized a construction team to repair the primary school and funded Fadima Kesar Doan, who was suffering from polio, to fulfill the responsibility of the central enterprise with practical actions.
