Recently, the reconstruction and expansion project of Kunming Changshui Airport has been approved by the Yunnan Branch of the Export-Import Bank of China (EXIM Bank of China) with RMB 8 billion of policy development financial instruments.

The reconstruction and expansion project of Kunming Changshui Airport is a major infrastructure project to accelerate the construction of a radiation center facing South and Southeast Asia and actively serve and integrate with the construction of the Belt and Road and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It has been included in the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan and 2035 Vision for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China, the "Double Tenth" major infrastructure projects of Yunnan Province, and four 100-100 key projects of Yunnan Province. The construction of the project will help Kunming Changshui Airport to become an international aviation hub radiating South and Southeast Asia, a modern comprehensive transportation hub opening to the outside world in southwest China, and a new power source for regional economic development. At present, the project has been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, with a total investment of 64.07 billion yuan. The project will be fully started in November.

Since the state issued policies related to policy-based development financial instruments, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Transport has actively implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council, as well as the work requirements of the provincial Party Committee and government, actively improved the working mechanism, strengthened departmental communication and coordination, and promoted more transportation projects in Yunnan Province to obtain fund support.
