On October 26, 2022, the unveiling ceremony of CREG Guineng Intelligent Mine Research Institute and the launching ceremony of CREG1200 Hard Rock Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) was held in Liupanshui Hi tech Industrial Development Zone, Guizhou Province.

The CREG1200 ("Liangdu") TBM, which was launched this time, has an excavation diameter of 4.53 meters and a total length of only 35 meters. It is used in the construction of the auxiliary adit and the bottom hauling roadway of the Juxin Coal Mine Project in Guizhou Province.

In view of the engineering difficulties such as short tunneling distance, many times of transition, rapid complex geological changes, and exploration when excavating in the southwest gas control roadway, CREG Equipment and Guizhou Guineng Company, on the basis of summing up the pain points of TBM application in coal mines, tailored the world's first mining motorized TBM, which has the advantages of short overall length, flexibility, and convenient transition. The equipment is innovatively equipped with hydraulic drive system, openable cutterhead A series of new technologies, such as intelligent roof bolter system and new bottom slag removal device, further enhance the pertinence and adaptability of TBM application in gas control roadway, and protect the safe and efficient construction of roadway.Editor/Ma Xue
