At the construction site of Jinghe Bridge of Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project, a major water conservancy project in Shaanxi Province, the giant steel members with a total weight of more than 70 cars were successfully "climbed" to a height of 230 meters after being pulled by the cable hoisting system for 8 hours. This marks the beginning of the fabrication and installation of steel structures of Jinghe Bridge.

The 284m long Jinghe Bridge is the first bridge project designed and constructed by half through spatial Y-shaped steel box arch bridge in China. The design scheme discards the traditional two-dimensional arch rib structure, adopts a new mode of single double combination, main and auxiliary arch joint stress, and is a three-dimensional curved arch, which is extremely difficult to construct.

The first steel structure lifted this time is 6.6m long, 8.94m high and 112 tons in weight. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the hoisting work, the construction team of Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project of China Railway 20th Bureau has set up a scientific and technological research team to continuously discuss and practice the welding technology of weathering steel in high mountains and canyons in advance, and adopt ultrasonic flaw detection to form a mature welding process, which provides a strong technical guarantee for the construction of Jinghe Bridge.

Technicians measure the first piece of large steel structure to ensure accurate positioning. It is understood that the completion of Dongzhuang Water Control Project can effectively improve the flood control capacity of the Jinghe River and the lower reaches of the Weihe River, reduce sediment deposition in the lower reaches of the Weihe River and the Yellow River, alleviate the water shortage in Tongchuan, Xixian New Area, Fuping, Sanyuan and other northern Weihe areas, improve the ecological environment around the reservoir area and the lower reaches of the Jinghe River and Weihe River, and play a very important role in ensuring and promoting the economic and social development of Shaanxi Province.Editor/Xing Wentao
