The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) pointed out in the report that by 2030, photovoltaic system may become the pillar of Indonesia's energy system. However, the Indonesian government's expectations are far from those of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

In the survey report titled "Perspectives on Indonesia's Energy Transformation" released a few days ago, the agency predicted that by 2050, Indonesia's power industry will undergo a complete transformation. The report points out that by 2050, the share of renewable energy power generation in the country's power generation structure may reach 85%, compared with about 12% in 2011.

In order to achieve this goal, the Indonesian government and industry manufacturers need to invest $44 billion in photovoltaic, $39 billion in other renewable energy technologies, and $75 billion in grid infrastructure. The battery energy storage system will require an investment of 5.5 billion dollars, and the electric vehicle charging infrastructure will require an investment of 22 billion dollars.

However, the Indonesian government's expectations are far from those of the International Renewable Energy Agency. According to Indonesia's 2021~2030 power plan released in 2021, the target of 23% renewable energy power generation by 2030 is set under the "optimal" condition.

In May 2022, the Saudi Arabian developer ACWA Power won the bid. It plans to develop 110MW floating photovoltaic system in reservoirs in Indonesia, including 50MW floating photovoltaic system in Sumatra and 60MW floating photovoltaic system in Java. Keywords: overseas news, engineering news

In April 2022, Quantum Power Asia, headquartered in Singapore, and ib vogt in Germany announced that they planned to invest US $5 billion to develop 3.5GW photovoltaic projects and 12GW energy storage projects in Indonesia. According to the data of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, in January 2022, Indonesia installed 51.2MW roof photovoltaic systems, including commercial and industrial photovoltaic systems and residential photovoltaic systems.Editor/Xing Wentao
