On Nov 4, 2022, a mobilization meeting for the construction of the railway project between Taizicheng and Xilinhot was held in Xilinhot. The official start of the construction of the project means that the aspiration of millions of people in the northern Xinjiang grassland to "ride bullet trains into Beijing" will soon become a reality.

It is reported that Taixi Railway is the national medium - and long-term railway network planning and railway "14th Five-Year" development planning project. The railway is located in Zhangjiakou City of Hebei Province and Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia, starting from Chongli Railway Taizicheng station in the south. The main line of Xilin Gol League section has a total length of 260 kilometers, with a total investment of 12.7 billion yuan. The construction period is expected to be 3.5 years. At present, the preliminary design has been approved in all lines, and the external power supply project from Xilin Hot to Sanggendalai Station and the auxiliary project of Xilin Hot Railway Station have been fully started. The "three power" relocation and modification is under bidding. The railway line construction and station building construction project is about to enter the bidding stage, and the whole line will be started in April 2023. It is planned to open passenger bullet trains from Xilinhot to Hohhot before the end of 2023.

After the completion of the project, it will be of great significance for Xilin Gol League to better serve and integrate into national strategies such as the Belt and Road, China-Mongolian-Russia Economic Corridor, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, Northeast revitalization and western development, accelerate the construction of "two barriers", "two bases" and "one bridgehead", and firmly follow the new path of high-quality development oriented by ecological priority and green development.
