To meet the growing traffic demand, subway construction in key cities has been accelerated. Recently, the official website of Xiamen Metro published the "Xiamen Urban Rail Transit Phase III Construction Plan (2023-2028) Environmental Impact Assessment Public Opinion", involving lines 5, 7, 8 and 9.
As can be seen from the EIA publicity, the construction plan of the third phase consists of 4 projects, including the first phase of Line 5, the first phase of Line 7, the first phase of Line 8, the second phase of Line 9, as well as the supporting rolling stock depot, parking lot, station, main substation and other related projects, with a total scale of about 88 kilometers. According to the plan, Line 5 is the eastbound Outbound island composite function express line. The first phase of Line 5 starts from the administrative Service Center station and ends at Huancheng South Road station. The total length of the line is 35 kilometers, which is laid underground. There are 18 stations, including 9 transfer stations, one station of Eucuo Rolling Stock Depot and one Hongtang parking lot.
Line 7 is the track line connecting the island and Xiang 'an. The first phase of line 7 from once adjacent An station, stop at gaoqi hub station, line 17 km, all underground installation, set up 13, including transfer station 7, shall have a gaoqi vehicle base (Shared with line 9).
Line 8 is the westbound Outbound Island composite express line. The first phase of Line 8 starts at Haicang Sports Center Station and ends at Wanda Plaza Station. With a total length of 18 kilometers, the line is laid underground, with 10 stations, including 8 transfer stations and one Mu Cuo Rolling stock Depot.
Line 9 is the northbound off-island composite express line. The second phase of Line 9 starts from the Convention Center station and ends at Ka Keeng Stadium Station (excluding). The total length of the line is 18 kilometers. It is fully underground and has 11 stations, including 6 transfer stations and one Takasaki vehicle base (shared with Line 7).
