On November 13, 2022, the commencement ceremony of the temporary construction project of China Energy Engineering Saudi Arabia's 2.6 GW photovoltaic power plant project was held, marking the project's full launch and entering the fast track of performance.

Thamer, CEO of ACWA Power Project Company, the project owner, attended the commencement ceremony and made a speech. Thamer fully affirmed the efforts made by CNECC during the preparation for project performance, and hoped that the Project Department would make persistent efforts, carefully organize the construction, accelerate the construction progress, and strive for early completion, early production and early effectiveness of the project.

The Saudi Arabia Al Schubach 2.6GW photovoltaic power station project is located in the Al Schubach region of Jeddah City, Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia, and is jointly constructed by China Energy Engineering International Group, Guangdong Thermal Power and Northwest Research Institute. The project adopts the world's most advanced N-type double-sided photovoltaic modules and single axis automatic tracking support, which is the world's largest photovoltaic power station under construction. As an important part of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" new energy plan, the project will vigorously promote localized management, which is expected to provide 3000 local jobs, reduce about 3.12 million tons of carbon emissions annually, and accelerate the transformation of Saudi Arabia's energy structure and green low-carbon development.Editor/Xing Wentao
