Speeding up the development of pumped storage energy plays an important role in speeding up the realization of carbon peak carbon neutral goal. China Three Gorges Corporation's Fengjie Rapeseed Dam water storage Power station in Chongqing has been approved by Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

It is understood that Rapeseed Dam pumped storage power station is located in Fengjie County, about 30km away from Fengjie County, with a total investment of about 8.281 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1.2 million kW. This project is a key implementation project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" of the National Medium and Long Term Pumped Storage Development Plan (2021-2035). It is also a major industrial development project of the Three Gorges Corporation in response to the call of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council, giving play to the role of central enterprises in fulfilling social responsibilities, and helping Fengjie County based on its own advantages. The project plays an important role in improving the power security and new energy consumption level of Chongqing, increasing local employment opportunities, and promoting high-quality economic and social development. It is a model to help rural revitalization of Fengjie County and realize the transformation of designated assistance from "blood transfusion" to "blood transfusion".
