ACWA Power is a leading developer, investor and operator of global power generation, seawater desalination and green hydrogen plants in Saudi Arabia. It has signed a joint development agreement with PERTAMINA New&Renewable Energy to develop core utilities for Tuban grass root refinery and petrochemical projects.
The agreement was signed by Dannif Danusaputro, CEO of PNRE, and Paddy Padmanathan, Vice Chairman and CEO of ACWA Power at the B20 Summit. The ceremony was witnessed by Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of B20 Indonesia Shinta Kamdani, and CEO and President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati.
Tuban plant is a refinery capable of producing aromatic hydrocarbons and ethylene, which is located on Java Island in the east of Indonesia. The scope of JDA includes the development of a 575 MW power generation facility and a 3288 t/h steam generation component; And a desalination plant with a total capacity of 363480 m3/day.
