China Railway won the bid for Tajikistan Central Asia Road Link Project

Recently, the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan held a contract signing ceremony for the Central Asia Road Link Phase IV Project (CARs-4). Akim Ibrahim, Minister of Transport of Tajikistan, and Zhang Liang, Deputy General Manager of the Overseas Company of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. jointly signed the contract. Relevant personnel from both sides participated in the signing of the contract.

The project is a highway reconstruction project in Tajikistan, with a total length of 51.2km, which is distributed among several cities in Sogt Prefecture, including 40.9km in Kuzhan area and 10.3km in Kuchkak Kanibadam area. The main quantities of the project include: bridge works (458m/10 bridges in total, 1 5x2m frame bridge), culvert works (3771m/145 bridges in total), drainage system works, earthwork, pavement works, sidewalk works, retaining wall works, auxiliary works, etc. The fund comes from the World Bank. The total duration of the project is 1095 days, and the warranty period is 365 days.

The completion of the project will effectively improve the efficiency of cross-border road trade in Central Asia, especially in Tajikistan, and improve the resilience and security of the regional connection infrastructure in Sogt Prefecture and Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region. It is conducive to achieving the higher level development goal (PrDO) of the CARs plan, namely, increasing cross-border connectivity and strengthening regional comprehensive development, so as to revitalize the historically active economic exchanges in Central Asia and the regions along the Silk Road.

Up to now, China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. has won a total of 13 successful projects in the Central Asian market. There are 6 in Tajikistan, 6 in Kyrgyzstan and 1 in Turkmenistan. Among them, the Sar Sar Tunnel and North South Connecting Line Project in Tajikistan implemented by China Railway No.5 Engineering Group won the Luban Prize of China Construction Industry (Overseas Project), creating a good situation for China Railway No.5 Engineering Group to stabilize the Tajik market and radiate to Central Asia. The second phase of the project and its 6.7km new project undertaken by China Railway No.5 Engineering Group were awarded the "4+" project by the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan due to their good reputation for safety, progress and quality, It has laid a solid foundation for winning the bid.Editor/XingWentao
