On November 28, 2022, the bidding announcement for construction within the scope of Guangzhou Bureau and Chengdu Bureau of Guiyang Guangzhou High speed Railway Speed Increase Reconstruction Project was released. The whole line of Guiyang Guangzhou High speed Railway will be officially started at the end of December. It is planned to be completed by the end of June 2024. The total investment of the project is about 5.87 billion yuan.
Project overview
The total length of the existing Guiyang Guangzhou railway is 856.899km, and the operating length is 866.758km. There are 510 bridges with a total length of 228.03km, 238 tunnels with a total length of 464.12km, and the bridge tunnel ratio is about 80.8%; There are 21 stations. The total length of 757.37km included in this upgrading and reconstruction project is 733.95km, including the length of the line from Longli North to Zhaoqing East, the horizontal and vertical sections, track superelevation, tunnel clearance area, etc. of the existing line are maintained unchanged, and the speed is increased to 300km/h; The line from Zhaoqing East to Sanshui South is 23.42km long, with a speed of 250km/h. The implementation of quality improvement and transformation can shorten the minimum travel time between Guiyang and Guangzhou from 4 hours and 10 minutes to 3 hours and 33 minutes.

The total construction period is 18 months. The planned commencement date is December 31, 2022, and the planned completion date is June 30, 2024.
Main technical standards
Railway grade: high-speed railway. Number of main lines: double lines.
Design speed: Huaiji to Zhaoqing East: K688+662~K782+579, speed up to 300km/h; From the east of Zhaoqing to the south of Sanshui: K782+579~K806+000, the speed is 250km/h; Other sections: maintain the existing speed.
Distance between main lines: maintain existing 4.8m. Maximum gradient: maintain the existing gradient, generally 20 ‰, including 6 ‰ in Zhaoqing East Sanshui South Section. Effective length of arrival departure track: 650m.
Traction type: electric power, AT power supply mode. The traction power supply equipment can meet the requirements of 300km/h EMU tracking operation after capacity expansion and transformation. Traffic command mode: centralized traffic control (CTC).
Train operation control mode: CTCS-3 train control system, and Guangzhou hub maintains CTCS-2. Train tracking interval: 4 min for signal and traction power supply facilities.
Guangzhou Bureau
Disease treatment: 77 of 26 tunnels (620m in total) were lined, 9 tunnels (1640m in total) were reconstructed, 7100 other lining cracks were treated, and 11 slopes were protected; Derusting and painting of bridge and culvert railings and pier and abutment hanging railings are 57 km long, and 24 sets of restricted viaducts are added under the bridge; Treatment of 45 ballastless track defects.
Quality improvement and reconstruction: 145.354km of Huaiji South Guangzhou K688+662~K859+006 line is tamped with large machines, and 51 groups of turnout (No. 18) are tamped with large machines; 11600m2 of new production and living facilities in the station; 247.29km of cables and 413 boxes are laid.
Speed up after reaching the standard: fine adjustment of ballastless track of 161.6km, replacement of Ⅲ c shouldered concrete sleepers, replacement of Ⅴ spring bar fasteners of 41.64km, grinding of seamless track rails of 232.74km, and grinding of 28 groups of seamless turnouts; 361.13 kilometers of 72 core thousand wire optical cables were laid from Huaiji to the south of Guangzhou, and the C2 level from Huaiji to Zhaoqing East was upgraded to C3, and the C2 level train control transformation from Zhaoqing East to Sanshui South; 14 traction substations were reconstructed, 596 sets of contact wire connection facilities such as contact wire ratchet compensation device, center anchor, terminal anchor clamp, etc. were replaced, and 258.054 kilometers of integral droppers were replaced.
It is divided into 3 sections: GGTZSG1 section is the civil works and track works of the whole line; GGTZSG2 bid section is the "four electricity" project of the whole line; GGTZSG3 bid section is related to RBC machine room in Zhaoqing East, newly-built single dormitory and station area.
