Cambau Ntawan, Laos Ambassador to China: In October 2022, I had the opportunity to take the Laos China Railway from Vientiane, Laos to Luang Prabang. It used to take me about 8 to 10 hours to drive there, but once the Laos China Railway was opened, the time was shortened to two hours, greatly facilitating people's travel. More importantly, the Laos China Railway has injected new impetus into Laos' economic and social development, especially played a key role in Laos' exports. From January to July 2022, the bilateral trade volume between Laos and China will reach US $4 billion, an increase of 17% year on year, of which the export volume of Laos to China will increase by 38% year on year. I believe that the Laos China Railway will be extended to ASEAN countries in the future to promote connectivity and trade exchanges in the region.Edit/Ma Xue
