Recently, the renovation and expansion project of Turpan Airport, a key construction project in Xinjiang Province undertaken by the Northwest Company of China Construction Third Bureau, has been completed and will be put into full use soon.
The reconstruction and expansion project of Turpan Airport includes the extension of the original 2,800-meter runway to 3,200 meters, the construction of a new vertical liaison taxiway, the renovation and expansion of the apron, the construction of the new terminal, the air and rail corridor project, outdoor pipe network, the construction of supporting roads in front of the station and the central square, etc.
After the renovation and expansion, the new and old terminals will cover an area of 22,500 square meters, which can meet the requirements of 1 million passenger throughput, 12,000 tons cargo throughput and 10,500 aircraft takeoff and landing times in 2025, providing a reliable guarantee for "Uzbek-Turpan regional economic integration" and promoting the sustainable social and economic development of Turpan City.
Energy saving and consumption reduction
Located in the lowest inland basin in China, Turpan Airport enjoys long sunshine hours throughout the year and high temperatures in summer. The new terminal building is modeled after the style of local folk houses, with arched translucent stone curtain walls on the north and south sides, and open glass curtain walls to create a comfortable and pleasant courtyard micro-climate environment, which can protect against high temperature while blocking the wind and sand.
The roof of the terminal adopts double-layer heat insulation and ventilation roof, and the outer wall is equipped with autoclaved aerated concrete block and rockwool board insulation layer, and metal sunshade grid is added to reduce thermal radiation and play a role in energy saving and consumption reduction.
A corridor three straight
The height difference between Turpan Airport and the railway station is about 27 meters, so it is very inconvenient for passengers to transfer from the airport to the high-speed railway. In order to ensure convenient and rapid transfer, the south side of the terminal is designed with a total length of 648 meters of underpass corridor.
Passengers can enter the air rail corridor from the Turpan Airport, enter the Tourism Integrated Service Center through the automatic walking path, and then enter the Turpan Railway Station through the underground tunnel, realizing seamless connection between the airport, the tourism service center and the railway station, and one-station transfer.
Building a smart Airport
In the process of construction, the project also adopted unmanned acceptance materials system, visualization and monitoring of tower cranes, intelligent compaction monitoring of earthwork backfill, etc. to comprehensively establish digital construction and smart site platform control system, and create a smart airport in Northwest China.
