On the morning of November 30, 2022, the foundation pit of the shield shaft of Nanjing South Tunnel was excavated on the west side of the North Square of Nanjing South Railway Station, marking the full start of construction of the expansion and renovation project of the Ningwu Railway. The preliminary plan of the project is to complete the roadbed, bridge, tunnel and other civil works in 2025, the third quarter of 2026 to complete the track laying and station modification, and the completion of acceptance in May 2027.
According to the introduction, the length of Nanjing South tunnel is about 14.4 kilometers, for Ningwu Railway expansion and renovation project of the whole line of control engineering, the construction period according to 36 months arrangement. Among them, the length of the shield section under the Qinhuai New River is about 2.3 kilometers, which is difficult to engineering and technology. The hole diameter of the shield structure is 9 meters, and the soil in the section under the river is shallow. During the construction period, it is proposed to replace the concrete and fill the film bag sand in the river bottom. At present, the project has started the excavation of the foundation pit and the transformation of the shield machine, and the shield construction is planned to be completed in 2025.
Ningwu Railway electrification and capacity expansion renovation project
The construction standard of Ningwu Railway electrified capacity expansion transformation project is Class I railway, electric traction, designed traction mass of 5000 tons, designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour, ordinary passenger cars and freight cars. The main line of the project is about 102.2 kilometers long, starting from Nanjing East Railway Station in Nanjing Hub in the north, passing through Ma 'anshan area, and ending in Wuhu East Railway Station in Wuhu Hub in the south. Among them, the Nanjing hub Nanjing East to Cangbo men section, Mennan village to Nanjing station about 11.3 kilometers of bus connection line has been electrified; The existing railway from Cangbomen to Guxiong will be relocated, with a new single line of about 29.7 kilometers and a freight yard in Jiangning town. The 62.5 km east section from Guxiong to Wuhu will be electrified and "leveled", and the section that does not meet the century-old flood level and navigation requirements and the over-limit slope will be renovated, and Guxiong comprehensive maintenance workshop and rail material base will be built. Five stations at Jiangning Town, Tongjing, Anjiang, Caishi and Dangtu will be closed, and 10 stations will be set up on the whole line, including Zijinshan, Cangbo Men, Shuanglong Street, Guli, Guxiong, Jiangning Town South, Ma 'anshan, Huangmeishan, Maoershan and Taqiao.
After moving the section from Guxiong to Cangbo Men of Ningwu-Wu Railway, the space of the original corridor can be returned to other functions of the city. The plan mainly uses the release space of the old line from two aspects: first, from the perspective of network darning, the corridor space is used to connect the "broken road" and close the traffic on both sides of the Ningwu-Wu Railway. Second, in the linear space utilization of railway, combined with the needs of urban development and site construction conditions, research and promote the layout of subways, roads, pipe corridors, greenways and other functions, to form a comprehensive transportation corridor with space composite utilization.
The expansion of Ningwu Railway capacity, especially the relocation of the Nanjing section (Cangbo Men to Guxiong), will effectively eliminate the safety risks of railway level crossings in this section, and resolve the problems of urban division, noise interference, pollution emission and traffic congestion caused by the original line passing through the city.
